Staycation
We had lots of plans to travel in 2021 bit Covid 19 had other ideas and made international travel all but impossible, indeed we had many plans for this week but all were sadly cancelled, like many others we chose a Staycation instead. We were blessed with warm sunshine which made us very grateful the the Brtish Isles
Sunday- We stayed very local with a walk around Cookley and the Staffs and Worcester Canal
Monday- Long Mynd was our destiation and we had a fabuolus walk in stunning scenery and warm sunshine.
Tuesday- An overnight stay at The Crown and Thistle in Abingdon and a walk along the Thames Path, a linear walk out and back, plenty of pleasure boats out on the Thames and an alfresco dinner in the hotel courtyard.
Wednesday -Abingdon again but walked the other way along the Thames Path today and had lunch in a riverside pub garden. Our one night stay really felt like a mini holiday.
Thursday- With no actual vacation Viv went back to work today and Col did some house painting.
Friday- Bredon Hill in Worcestershire was our destination for today, another sunny day but windy, almost blew our picnic away until we fornd a sheltered spot behind a wall.
We have had a varied week and travelled around an hour from home each time and feel refreshed.
Saturday finishes the break with a girls lunch at Gino D'Campos restaurant in Birmingham.
