Australia 2020 - Day 4 - Melbourne
Sunday.
Thunderstorms were forecast today but in the City they held off until the evening, also the pollution levels were much better than expected.
In the morning we did a self guided walking tour of Melbourne's Laneways, arcades and alleyways.
There was a fantastic tearoom established in 1892 (good job we weren't hungry as the queue was out of the door).
Hosier Lane is renowned for it's street art which is obviously refreshed regularly, there were several topical bushfire installations and one in memorial to the plane shot down by Iran.
In the afternoon we visited the preparations for the Australian Open Tennis which starts tomorrow and then we stumbled into Midsumma Festival for the LGBT community in Alexandra Gardens - what a party atmosphere!
The rain came while we were having complementary drinks and canapes in the hotel lounge so we stayed local and went back to Boatbuilders Yard for dinner.
Melbourne has the tagline "Australia's most liveable city" we agree, it has a laid back vibe without the iconic landmarks of an Opera House or Harbour Bridge.
15,500 steps, 6 miles
