One of the most enjoyable features of this walk is the people we meet along the way, unfortunately we rarely think to ask their names, yet strangely we know their nationalities. We are all walking to a different timetable and as we are taking our time we are losing some of our buddies each day.

We met "The nice Americans" (our host called them that but we will call them Brad and Janet) on the first day and bid farewell to them yesterday although they wished they were stopping too.

On day two we met a girl on her own, she was from Belgium, we will call her Ellie. She was travelling alone and staying in hostels, we saw her for 3 days but bid farewell today as she couldn't get lodgings near us.

Also on Tuesday we saw a couple walking from the pub at Rowardennan, they were staying in our B&B. We had breakfast together, Sophie and Lionel were from France (they took our picture below), we were truly surprised to be in the room next door at the Inversnaid Bunkhouse!! We have also bid them farewell today as they had a much longer journey, in fact they took the bus from Inveraran, Sophie was struggling with a sore foot.

We took a break on the shores of Loch Lomand today and met a guy from Glasgow (he took our picture below), he was a postie who we will call Gary. It was his day off and the sun was shining so he caught a bus from Glasgow to somewhere near the top of the loch and he was going to walk back to Milgavie and then catch the bus home - just 42 miles which has taken us 5 days!!!

We have also seen some wild goats - we didn't ask their names either!!!!.

We had the best weather so far today, only a brief rain shower, I think we have to make the most of it. The terrain was quite hard going today, lots of undulations, rocks and tree roots to negotiate but no real altitude.

Addendum to todays blog, had an excellent dinner in the Beinglas Farm bar and  great beer too. Met a German couple who we will call Helmut and Ingrid, they have spent 2 weeks camping in Scotland and are moving on to Wales tomorrow and across the bar were two young German girls who were very very excited . Ingrid told us they were so happy for a shower and  a beer.
