Canada 2018 - Day 2 - Vancouver
Sunday
Jet lag is a funny old thing! We managed to stay up until about 9.00 pm on our 1st night in Vancouver but I woke up at 11.00 pm convinced it was time to get up! fortunately I managed to drop off to sleep again but only until 2.00 am, thankfully we had good Sky coverage of the Singapore Grand Prix which was a Sunday evening night race which we watched at 04.30 am.
When dawn broke we were greeted with very poor visibility and rain, hey we're British we felt right at home.
After a Starbucks breakfast we headed out on a bus to Granville Island which is host to a public market which according to our lonely Planet guide is the second most visited attraction in Canada after Niagara Falls! It was quite interesting and we got a morning bagel but it didn't compare with the market in Barcelona or the Flower Market in Bangkok!
We caught a bus back to Stanley Park which is Vancouver's second most famous tourist attraction. The rain had eased off and we had a very pleasant stroll along the sea wall where we had a brief glimpse of a Harbour Seal, totem poles and a plethora of boats.
We walked along the promenade to our favourite bar from yesterday and enjoyed a couple of Fat Tug IPA's and the most tender BBQ ribs I have ever tasted then heading back to our hotel for a dip in the hot tub before dinner.
