NC500 2017 - Day 2 - Melrose to Inverness

Melrose to Inverness

Route

A long drive mostly along the A9 which has average speed cameras all the way.
Maybe because of this the traffic flowed very well and we had no hold ups.

We did stop of en route to admire the engineering of the three bridges spanning the Firth of Forth.

Our hotel room in Inverness overlooks the river and the castle.

It also has the excellent Kitchen Brasserie next door where we had an early dinner.

This gave us plenty of time for a stroll to the Caledonian Canal and down to the Clachnaharry sea lock.

Further than originally intended but most enjoyable.
